The European Union has emerged as an increasingly important entity in global international relations, but the legal implications of this have been the subject of much controversy and debate.This book meets the need for a clear and wide-ranging account of the law and practice of the EU's international relations. It covers not only legal personality, competence and legal order, but also provides a broader analysis of the development of a common foreign and security policy, other international aspects of the EU, and the EU's role as an international actor.
