As this fourth edition of
Reinsurance goes to press, the need for education and understanding of the reinsurance
business has never been greater.
Reinsurance professionals in
the 21st century will need to be knowledgeable and conversant about a multitude of topics,
both inside and outside the reinsurance business. The convergence of financial services,
the diversity and complexity of reinsurance programmes, and the global expansion of the
marketplace contribute to the continuing need for education and training at all levels in
our business.
