Shanta Perera trained as an accountant before joining a City futures broker, where he first developed his interest in derivatives. After a career in Operations, Financial Control and Treasury he set up as a freelance Treasury Consultant, tie became a member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers in 1994. After completing a Masters in Financial Mathematics, Shanta decided to pursue a career as a Quantitative Analyst/Software Developer. He has since worked for ABN AMRO and Deutsche Bank developing systems and tools to support risk management in treasury and capital markets.
